  • A. Dale Lacky served as CIF Sac-Joaquin Section President from 1966-1978 and was the Section ’s first CIF State President from 1978-80 and made a significant number of contributions to the success of the CIF Section.

Clarke Coover Scholarship Award Winners ($500)

  • LAUREN EDH (Turlock) – Lauren ran cross country and played softball for all four years each. In cross country, she won the Team Spirit Award twice and the Coach’s Award once. In softball, she won the Team Spirit Award once and was named first-team all-league once. She was named the Stanislaus County Commissioner for Women Outstanding Young Woman of the Year and was a delegate to Girls State. She’s the ASB Spirit Commissioner, a member of the California/Nevada/Hawaii Key Club District Board and competes on the school mock trial team. She volunteers with planning service projects in her community, Chicks with Sticks and she hosts a yarn drive. Lauren has a 4.23 GPA and is undecided on her college. She plans on majoring in speech and hearing science/linguistics with the future goal of becoming a speech pathologist or in school administration. 

    BENJAMIN HARLESS (Enochs) – Benjamin played football and baseball for all four years each. In football, he was the team MVP all four years, a team captain three years and was named allleague once. In baseball, he was named academic all-league twice. He’s an AP Scholar with distinction and won the CAASPP Achievement Award. He’s the senior class president, lifetime member of CSF, Interhigh Student Representative and member of Link Crew. he volunteers as a student leader in his church, Church in the Park and with San Francisco Impact Missions. Benjamin has a 4.4 GPA and will attend either Modesto Junior College or the United States Military Academy at West Point. He plans on majoring in pre-law with the future goal of becoming an attorney.
