Model Coach Award

Since 2001, the Sac Joaquin Section has annually recognized six outstanding coaches for their positive role modeling and significant contributions to their school and community with the “Model Coach Award”. Each of the honored coaches received a commemorative plaque and a lifetime pass to all Sac Joaquin Section athletic contests. The Central California Athletic League has many outstanding coaches and these coaches have been recognized by the Section as a “Model Coach”.

• 2015-16 Kristen Pontes-Christian, Pitman High School
• 2016-17 Mary Krupka, Turlock High School
• 2013-14 Jana Lacono-Osgood Thomas, Downey High School
